Fishing Deposit - Cancellation - Refund Policy
Payment and Booking Policy:
- A 50% deposit is required to book a trip. A reservation is not valid without a deposit. We will hold the reservation for interested parties for 2 weeks only. After that time, if no deposit is received, the reservation is void, and the date becomes available for booking to other parties.
- A confirmation letter/contract will be mailed or emailed to you after your deposit is received. Full payment is required before the departure. Only cash, cashier’s checks, and money orders will be accepted as payment at the time of departure. No personal checks are accepted on the day of departure, but may be mailed at least 2 weeks before the departure date.
- Please include the dates of the trip in the memo section of your deposit check along with all contact numbers. Make checks payable to Majestic Seas Charters and mail it to 5413 3rd Ave, Key West Fl 33040.
Cancellation Policy: The Captain and Majestic Seas Charters reserves the right to cancel any trip at any time due to bad weather, mechanical failure, safety, or other unforeseen circumstances that prevent us from fishing. Deposits are fully refundable 6 months or more before the departure date, or less than 6 months for a legitimate reason, such as death of a family member or self, terminal illness, we will refund your portion of the trip payment in full, we will work with you on a case by case basis to try to reschedule your trip up to within one year of the original trip date. In the case that your trip is cancelled due to bad weather, mechanical failure, safety or other unforeseen circumstances, again, we will work with you on a case by case basis to try to reschedule your trip up to within one year of the original trip date. If a trip underway is cut short because of bad weather, mechanical failure, or other unforeseen circumstances that prevent us from fishing, a partial refund will be given, based on the completed duration of the trip. No refunds will be given if a trip is cut short due to illegal, violent or belligerent behavior by the client. No “GPS Devices” - If the Captain discovers any GPS devices on board the trip will be terminated immediately with no refund! In the event of the trip cancellation, Majestic Seas Charters will not be held liable for any travel, hotel, or other consequential costs incurred by the client. Majestic Seas Charters reserves the right to adjust trip prices due to a substantial increase in fuel price, or if the trip was booked more than 12 months in advance.
We strongly suggest that you call and check in with us the day before the trip. Majestic Seas Charters will make all efforts to notify the clients of trip cancellation prior to departure. It is the client’s responsibility to check in with Majestic Seas Charters the day before the trip departure, after 2 pm. EDT. A call the day before might save you from making a trip down here for nothing. If our wind gauge reads over 25 mph (we do not trust the weather service, they are very unreliable and we cannot go by the Miami weather off the weather channel) we will postpone for one day. If the winds are 15-20 mph we will/must fish the protected waters of the Marquesas Keys and surrounding reefs. We do not visit the Dry Tortugas in winds greater than 15 mph. We do not postpone trips for rain. (The fish don’t care!) In the rare event we are not able to go out at all due to weather conditions; we will make every effort to reschedule your trip within one year of your trip date.
